Traditional accountancy skills required together with an understanding of the needs of Contractors, Freelancers & SMEs.
Although the position is home based, we would prefer someone located in Surrey. We expect that the first few days will need to be office based to ensure that the new person understands our systems and processes before working from home. We operate using a secure remote desktop solution and make extensive use of cloud accounting systems.
This is a permanent position and we are open to all forms of flexible working including reduced hours per day or a shorter working week. Salary will be negotiable based on experience and working time.
Remote working 20-25 hours per week your duties will be varied and will include;
- Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Monthly sales reconciliations
- Quarterly VAT reconciliation and returns
- Profit and loss analysis
- Processing wages journals and reconciliations
- Year end journals including depreciations, accruals and prepayments
- Year end balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining fixed asset register
- Preparing annual accounts to trial balance and draft stage
- Providing cover for weekly and monthly payrolls
- Ad hoc duties as appropriate.
Excellent customer service is essential
You will be expected to support the partners in maintaining and developing client relationships by responding to client’s requests for help in a personalised, friendly and efficient way.
We are looking for individuals with a ‘can do’ attitude, who have a passion for accounts and are capable of working without direct supervision and handling the pressure of working to strict deadlines.
As you will be working from home, PC literacy, high flexibility in your schedule, good organisation, independence and self-reliance are necessary attributes and since you will be working with sensitive financial information a high awareness of the current data protection laws is essential.
You will need to provide a quiet and secluded home office equipped with a dedicated wired broadband connection and a desktop PC or laptop.
